DTL Building Automation Systems

Architecture: A Completely Digital System with unparalleled reliability, open communication, and cost effectiveness.

Reliable and accurate signal sensing and transmission
The smart sensors and I/O modules send digital signals from where the signals are originated. The use of digital signals prevents signal loss over the line and eliminates the negative impact of a harsh operational environment.

Reliable and accurate execution of control commands
Smart actuators and I/O modules convert digital signals to analog control commands at the location where the analog commands are required. The commands are precisely transmitted and immediately converted to the signals required by actuators.

Unparalleled system integration
The Serial Multiplexer (Simux) accepts up to 256 input and output signals. All the signals for a complete mechanical and electrical system are more likely to be hooked to the same SIMUX. It reduces the line traffic greatly if two controllers have to work together to control a same mechanical or electrical system.
When communication is down, DTL system works fine.

BAS installation – a Simplified Approach There is no longer a need to pull hundreds of wires through multiple small conduits. Gone are the days of identifying and labeling these multitudes of cable.

A single pair RS485 wire links all the sensors and actuators. If you can connect your computer to an Ethernet cable, you already understand how to work with an RS485 connector

⇢ Easy Maintenance
⇢ Eliminate O & M required for faulty connections
⇢ Fewer Controllers
⇢ Quite possibly the simplest yet most powerful system created using the advanced technologies and concepts making maintenance more cost effective and no easier than ever before.

MAJOR COMPONENTS

Digi-SFT 5.1 Server

The Digi-SFT Server is the brains of the Digi-SFT system. It contains all the necessary resources for programming, communications, and execution of entire system control, performance monitoring, analysis, reporting, diagnostics and fault detection, and system optimization.

The Digi-SFT Server is connected to the field computer or Multiplexer through an internet router. Each server can have 16646144 Multiplexers.

Digi-FCU Field Computer (Optional)

The Digi-FCU hosts control programs which are also stored in the SIMUX controllers. It is a mini server for an individual building. This is an optional component for expansion purposes only.

The (new name) Field computer is connected to the system multiplexers through an internet router. Each field computer can have 254 Multiplexers.

Digi-MUX RS-485 Multiplexer

The Digi-MUX connects a field computer or server through a router to SIMUX controllers. It extends up to six RS485 communication lines.

Each RS485 communication line can connect up to 32 SIMUX controllers. A full loaded RS 485 multiplexer can connect a total of 192 SIMUX controllers. A multiplexer can have a maximum of 49,152 nodes. Generally speaking, one RS-485 can provide sufficient hardware support for a mid-size building.

Digi-SMX Serial Multiplexer

The Digi-SMX is a controller in the EMCS product line used to monitor and control electrical and mechanical building equipment.

The Digi-SMX has two-tier RS-485 architecture. The first tier is an RS-485 link that is directly connected to an RS-485 multiplexer on the same link as other controllers. The second tier is a high speed RS-485 data bus that supports up to 256 nodes; where each node can be one of the following: an input module or smart sensor, an output module or smart actuator, or unitary controller, such as a terminal box controller, fan airflow station, fume hood controller, and pump flow station.

The user can program the controller by selecting control blocks from a library or create custom programs using the Distributed Control Language. A Digi-SMX provides enough hardware support for a mechanical room or small size building.

Digi-PMC

The Digi-PMC has a two-tier RS-485 structure similar to Digi-SMX.

The user can program the controller by selecting control blocks from a library or create custom programs using the Distributed Control Language (Digi-DCL). A much larger and faster processor is built in to execute performance analysis, operation monitoring, and optimal control.

A Digi-PMC provides enough hardware and software support for a mechanical room or small size building.
